Fitter

Job Title: Fitter
Department: Fabrication
Reports To: Shop Superintendent

Position Summary
The Fitter is responsible for performing various daily fitting functions according to all ASME codes.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned projects by working within all guideline (ASME) codes.
  • Ability to build pressure vessels and accurately interpret blue prints for various assigned projects.
  • Ignite torches and start power supplies by completing electrical circuits.
  • Ability to perform GMAW welding operations and projects.
  • Operate safety equipment and exercise safe work habits.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, hand grinder while following all safety rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for checking accuracy in the time MES log system.
  • Recognize, set up, and properly utilize a variety of standard industry fitting tools including a shear, various saws, and iron worker.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Basic personal computer skills.

 Physical Demands

  • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
  • Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point).
  • Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
  • Light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a productive/technical nature.
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers.

 

Work Environment

  • Outdoors and indoor shop environment with adequate ventilation.
  • Very loud (examples: jack hammer work, front row at rock concert).
  • Regular – Monday- Thursday, 6:00am-4:30pm.
  • Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.

Welder-GMAW

Job Title: Welder-GMAW
Department: Fabrication
Reports To: Shop Superintendent

Position Summary
The Welder-GMAW is responsible for performing daily GMAW welding functions in accordance to all ASME codes. 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and tasks related to assigned job operations.
  • Adhere to all welding procedures and processes including GMAW standards.
  • Operate safety equipment and practice safe work habits.
  • Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, overhead crane, long seam equipment, and hand grinder in accordance to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to pass all X-ray and Hydro testing requirements.
  • Responsible for checking accuracy in the time log MES system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Basic personal computer skills.

CERTIFICATE/LICENSES: ASME Certification-GMAW is preferred.
